Add Entitlement to a Desktop Pool

You configure entitlements to control which remote desktops and applications your users can access. Before users can access remote desktops or applications, they must be entitled to use a desktop or application pool.  In this exercise, we will add an entitlement to an existing desktop pool.

Launch Firefox Browser

Launch Firefox from the desktop of the Main Console

Launch Horizon Administrator Console

  1. Select Region A from the bookmarks bar
  2. Select Horizon Admin A

Login to VMware Horizon Console

  1. Enter Administrator as username
  2. Enter VMware1! as the password
  3. Click Sign in

IC-Pool1 Desktop Pool

  1. Click on Desktops under Inventory

Edit Entitlement to the IC-Pool1

  1. Click on the check box next to the existing IC-Pool1
  2. Click on Entitlements to see options of either add or remove entitlements for this desktop pool
  3. Click on Add Entitlements

Add Entitlements

Click on Add

Find User or Group

  1. Enter User1 Mod1 in the Name/user name contains field
  2. Click on Find
  3. Select  User1 Mod1  by clicking on the check box
  4. Click OK

Note you may need to scroll down or resize the window to be able to select the user. You can also click the box next to Name to select all, then click ok.

Add Entitlements

  1. Check the box next to User1 Mod1
  2. Click OK

Verify the entitlement was added

  1. Click on IC-Pool1 to go to the desktop pool details

Entitlements Tab

  1. Click on the Entitlements tab
  2. Verify that [email protected] (User1 Mod1) is entitled to the pool

  1. Click on the Desktops tab to return to the list of desktop pools - congratulations on finishing the exercise to add an entitlement to an existing pool!
