This article will walk you through running 6 PowerCLI Sample scripts to highlight just some of the capabilities of the solution.
Walkthrough Summary
- Log into the Demo Portal Landing Page
- Launch Horizon Native Client Link
- Enter EUC Demo Account credentials
- Launch a Windows 10 Virtual Desktop
- Launch Horizon PowerCLI shortcut
- Log in to the Connection Server prompt
- Step through All 6 PowerCLI Sample Scripts
In order to run this demo you will need to have the following:
- A valid account in the VMware TestDrive environment, sign up here if you don't
- For Horizon apps: TCP ports 80, 443; and if using PCoIP, both TCP & UDP 4712
- Ensure you have the latest View Client installed on your local machine
Open Workspace ONE in Testdrive
Select TD-WINDOWS10 VDI Desktop
Click on the "Horizon PowerCLI Demo" shortcut.
Wait for Menu Main Menu
Login with your Testdrive credentials (Ensure you use the VMWTD domain prefix as shown above)
Main PowerCLI samples menu appears
Select 1 to Show Connection Server Information.

Scroll down
Press Enter to continue
Press Enter to continue back to the main menu
Select 2 for vCenter and Composer Info.

Scroll down and press Enter to continue.
Press Enter to continue to the main menu
Press 3 to Query the Pools
Window appears displaying pool information.
Close out of the Pool Query Window and you will be back at the main menu

Select 4 to Query the Desktops based on various states
Windows appear displaying Desktop state information.
Scroll through each pool by pressing Enter
Press Enter to return to the main menu after last pool is displayed.
Press 5 to show out of date Horizon Agents Window Appears showing out of date agents.
View VM information then close the Window

Press Enter to continue
Main Menu is displayed.
Press 6 to show out of date Horizon Agents.
View out of date Horizon Agents.
Close Window to continue.
Press Enter to return to main menu
Select Q to quit.
