Horizon PowerCLI 6.5 U1 Demo Walkthrough Guide

This article will walk you through running 6 PowerCLI Sample scripts to highlight just some of the capabilities of the solution. 

Before You Begin

In order to run this demo you will need to have the following:

  • A valid account in the VMware TestDrive environment, sign up here if you don't have one yet.
  • For Horizon apps: TCP ports 80, 443; and if using PCoIP, both TCP & UDP 4712.
  • Ensure you have the latest View Client installed on your local machine.

Launch a TestDrive Windows 11 Desktop in Horizon

To access the Horizon PowerCLI, first launch the TD-WINDOWS11 desktop in Horizon as instructed in Launching Horizon Virtual Desktops from Workspace ONE or Launching Virtual Desktops from Horizon Client.

Launch Horizon PowerCLI

Click on the Horizon PowerCLI Demo shortcut.

Horizon Connection Server Login

Wait as PowerCLI gets connected to the Horizon Connection Server.

When prompted, login with your TestDrive User name formatted as vmwdp\username, along with your TestDrive Password.

Horizon PowerCLI Main Menu

After successful login, the Horizon PowerCLI Samples main menu will be shown.

Show Connect Server Info

At the prompt for Please make a selection:, type in 1 then hit Enter.

Output of Connection Server Info

Detailed information about the Horizon Connection Servers will be displayed.  Scroll through to explore the details.

When done, hit Enter to return to the main menu.

Other Main Menu Options

Feel free to select other options to explore the various details that can be provided with these Horizon PowerCLI samples.

Logoff from the desktop when done using the samples.
